UNKNOWN ARISTS - Earth — Foundation and Substance

Earth is the grounding force. It carries the weight of sub-bass pressure, Earth is where sound systems meet the floor. It holds the traditions of Jungle and Hardcore, the grit of old pressings, crusty break samples and Amiga productions, the feel of rooms that shook beneath early drum edits. But it is not stuck in the past, Earth supports every new idea that grows from it, anything with weight belongs here. Earth is the reminder that underground music starts with a feeling, and everything else builds from that foundation.

After completing the first six DSM releases, we’re moving into a new phase titled Sonic Liminality: Evolving Beyond the Threshold. This isn’t a reset or a change of direction, but an expansion of what DSM has always stood for: underground energy, experimentation and a respect for the roots of Hardcore, Jungle, Drum and Bass and Breakbeat culture. The new chapter is shaped by five alchemical sigils that reflect different movements within the music and the wider underground. Each one represents a state of sound and a way of thinking about where DSM is heading next.
